Michael R. Berman, M.D., FACOG

Obstetrician / Gynecologist New Haven | Dr. Michael R. Berman, M.D. | Clinton CTMichael R. Berman, M.D., FACOG, a 1970 graduate of New York Medical College, is a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Berman is also Founder and President of County Obstetrics and Gynecology Group and is Founder of Hygeia.org, an online community of families who have endured the tragedy of miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal / infant loss. Online since 1995 with over 35,000 members, Hygeia® has become among the most enduring programs of its kind pertaining to Perinatal Loss and bereavement.

Dr. Berman is also the Founder and President of the Hygeia Foundation, Inc., and Institute for Perinatal Loss, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization whose mission is to comfort those who grieve the loss of a pregnancy or newborn child (from all causes; e.g. Miscarriage, Stillbirth, Neonatal Death, Genetic Disorders), to address disparities in access to healthcare services for medically and economically underserved families with respect, dignity and advocacy and to provide advocacy and resources for maternal and child health. Dr. Berman has been interviewed about his work in Perinatal Loss and Bereavement by Katie Couric on the NBC Today Show.

Dr. Berman is a past recipient of the Association of Professors in Gynecology and Obstetrics Teaching Award, the C. Lee Buxton Teaching Award, and is actively involved in the medical education program at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Berman is currently a candidate for a Masters Degree in Biomedical Informatics at the Oregon Health and Science University, studying cutting-edge health-information technologies. Dr. Berman is the author of Parenthood Lost: Healing the Pain after Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Infant Death and enjoys reading and writing poetry.


Howard Simon, M.D., FACOG

Obstetrician / Gynecologist New Haven | Dr. Howard Simon, M.D.| Clinton CTDr. Simon has resided in the New Haven area since 1980 when he joined County Ob/Gyn. He is a 1975 graduate of the University Autonoma of Guadalajara and completed his Ob/Gyn residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He was board certified in Ob/Gyn in 1982. He is an associate clinical professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale University School of Medicine and Vice President of County Obstetrics and Gynecology Group. He is an attending physician at Yale New Haven Hospital and is on the Medical Advisory Board at Women's Surgical Center. He received the APGO Excellence in Teaching award, the Temple Surgical Award and has been named a TOP DOC in Connecticut Magazine several times. In addition to general Obstetrics and Gynecology, his areas of interest include Uro-Gynecology which focuses on incontinence, bladder prolapse, overactive bladder and pelvic discomfort. He has extensive experience in abdominal surgery, laparoscopic procedures and other minimally invasive techniques.

In his personal time he enjoys sailing, bicycling, flying and very special time with family and grandkids.

She completed her Ob/Gyn residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and joined County Ob/Gyn in 1997. She is an attending physician at Yale New Haven Hospital and is an Assistant Professor at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Chelouche practices both Obstetrics and Gynecology and enjoys working with endocrine disorders. She loves photography, film, and the Arts. She lives in Woodbridge with her husband, George Tellides, and has three children ages 9-14.
